and protects your information when you use our mobile application (the
"App").
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data
transparently and responsibly. By using the App, you agree to the
practices described in this Policy.
1Information We Collect
Information You Provide

Photos of water bottles: When you use the bottle
scanning feature, the app captures images of bottle labels.

Chat messages: Questions you ask the AI Water
Specialist and its responses.

Hydration data: Volumes of water you log (e.g.
250ml, 500ml).

Contact information: Only if you choose to email
us, we receive your email address and the content of your message.
Information Collected Automatically

Device information: iPhone model, iOS version,
language, and time zone.

Usage data: Anonymous, aggregated information about
how you interact with the app, used to improve performance and
reliability.

Crash reports: Technical data collected
automatically when the app encounters an error, used solely to fix
bugs.
We do NOT collect: Your name, address, phone number,
payment information, contacts, location, or any biometric data —
unless you voluntarily provide it.
2How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To recognize water bottles and provide mineral and quality
information
- To respond to your questions through the AI Water Specialist
- To track your hydration progress within the app

To improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features
- To respond to your support inquiries

We never sell your data. We do not use your personal
information for advertising, profiling, or marketing by third parties.
3How We Share Your Information
We share limited information only with trusted third-party service
providers necessary to operate the app:

AI providers: Photos of bottle labels and your chat
messages may be sent to AI processing services to recognize images
and generate responses. These providers are bound by data processing
agreements.

Cloud infrastructure: We use secure cloud hosting
providers to store and process data.

Analytics & crash reporting: Aggregated,
anonymous technical data may be processed by analytics tools to
improve app stability.
We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or
to protect our legal rights.
4Camera & Permissions
Water Sommelier requests access to your camera
only when you actively use the bottle scanning
feature. The camera is never used in the background.
You can deny or revoke camera access at any time in your iPhone
Settings → Water Sommelier → Camera. The rest of the app will continue
to work without it.
5Data Storage & Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect
your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure,
or destruction. These measures include:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure cloud storage with access controls
- Regular security reviews of our systems
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100%
secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee
absolute security.
6Data Retention
We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide the
service:

Hydration logs & scan history: Stored on your
device. You can clear them at any time.

Chat messages: May be retained briefly on our
servers for AI processing and quality improvement, then deleted.

Support emails: Retained for up to 24 months after
the last interaction.
You can request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8).
7Children's Privacy
Water Sommelier is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or
the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly
collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has
provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete
it promptly.
8Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights
regarding your personal data:

decisions based on information from the app.

material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of
this page and notify users through the app or by email when
appropriate.
